What are the opening hours of the library?

The library at PCC is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Opening hours during holidays and bank holidays may vary. For current opening hours, we refer you to the website of the library, the Hanze Library App or to the service desk in the library.

How can I find books in the library

The two computers close to the information desk are specifically meant for browsing and searching in the Library Catalogue.

You can also reach the catalogue through this link. When you search for the title of a book or a journal, you can see where you can find it in the library.

After clicking on a title in the research overview, scroll down to 'Check Availability', You should see something like this:

Under Conservatorium (normale leen), you can see the available copies. The Call number tells you how and where to find the item in the library, in this case under 782.4 ALDW. This Call number is based on the national library order, and is based on themes. Books that stand close together are about similar topics. The bookcases in all Hanze Libraries are sorted from 000-999.

You can sometimes place a hold on a book, as seen in the picture. You will get notified per email when the book is set aside for you to pick up.

You can also renew your loans through the app, or by asking in the library.

Try the catalogue out yourself, and if you get stuck, feel free to ask us for help!

Where can you go with your questions about literature research?

The information staff are always there for the first-line questions, if more extensive questions come, we email Afke Staats the information specialist for the arts, she will contact the student.

How can I recognize Music Scores?

All scores are wrapped in a specific colour. The colours refer to the following categories:

Red: Strings
