Looking for a specific piece of sheet music or a music score quickly?
Then enter the composer's surname in HanzeWorldCat's search bar, and one or more specific terms from the title, and press enter.
It is smart to then immediately use one of the filters on the left. In the material types, you can filter by 'Music score'.
Often your title will be among the first results!
Is your music score not listed? Check whether you have spelt the name correctly, sometimes composers have difficult names... and some musical terms are also completely different in different languages (e.g. concert versus konzert).
Still haven't found a score? You could check whether another library in the Netherlands has the piece available, and submit a loan request to them. This does cost administration/shipping fees. Read more about borrowing from other libraries here.
There is also an advanced search function. You get to this advanced screen by clicking 'Advanced search' below the search button.
On the next screen, you can now specify in more detail what you are looking for. For instance, do you know the ISBN of a book? Then you can change the search field to ISBN and enter it after it. You are now more certain that you will find the right print.
If you want, you can add more attributes, such as the author, or title of a book.
When you have found the musical score in HanzeWorldCat, and it is available in the cabinet, this logo will appear:
Clicking on the title will give you more information about how many copies we have (available), and where the music piece is in the Hanze Library's bookshelf at the Prince Claus Conservatoire.
This signature (788.521 DEBU) is the code by which you can find the sheet music in the cabinet. In fact, the music scores are between 788 and 789 and sorted alphabetically in the cabinet. More info on this sorting can be found here.
You can now go to the Hanze Library of the Prince Claus Conservatoire and go to number 788.521 in the bookshelf and search for DEBU. You can borrow scores without N with your student/staff card and use them at home. More info on borrowing, renewing and reserving can be found here.
Is there no copy available to borrow? In that case, you can check out a Not-Lendable copy in the Hanze Library, or scan/copy parts of it for your own use. These materials can be recognised by a large N on the front cover.
Is there no Not-Lendable copy? Then you can check whether another library in the Netherlands has the score available. Students and teachers of the Prince Claus Conservatoire do not pay any costs for this, if the request is sent out to conservatoires in the Netherlands. You can make the request at the library desk of the relevant location.
